Gwinnett Tech Now Offering LEED Exam Prep
One-day workshop designed for those in "green" construction industry

Lawrenceville - June 04, 2009

Gwinnett Tech's Continuing Education Division is accepting registration for a timely workshop and exam prep course for those seeking LEED accreditation and in furthering their knowledge and expertise in "green" commercial construction.

Gwinnett Tech is offering the LEED AP 2.2 Workshop to prepare participants for the USGBC (US Green Building Council) Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) examination. The workshop is specifically designed for individuals who must complete the exam by June 30, 2009.

Those successfully passing the exam become LEED-accredited professionals, a sought-after credential for companies and organizations seeking LEED certification for their building projects. LEED certified buildings are eligible for certain industry and business tax credits.

The LEED exam prep course is for contractors, construction managers, architects, designers, engineers, building operations managers, and any person with an interest in advancing "green" construction technology. Six categories of the LEED rating system will be discussed as well as integrated project management and documentation processes fundamental to the LEED program.

To be eligible for the workshop, participants must have filed their exam application with the USGBC by March 30. Gwinnett Tech will offer the one-day examination prep workshops on June 12 and 13 and on June 17 from 8 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. The cost is $310 and all study materials are included.

For more information and to register, call 770-995-9697 or log on to www.GwinnettTech.edu/ce. The LEED AP 2.2 Workshop is listed among construction courses.

Gwinnett Tech's Continuing Education Division offers hundreds of seminars, workshops and short courses in a host of career-focused areas. Classes are available in computers and software, language and bilingual skills, leadership and management, and in a host of industry-specific areas including construction, real estate, healthcare, food service, retailing and manufacturing.
